When people experience Navy Seals, it makes an impact...on their muscles, endurance, and mental toughness.  Whereas some programs train you gently, Navy Seals hits you like a sledgehammer.  What kinds of workouts will you do in Navy Seals?

The best way to describe Navy Seals is that it is a lighter version of triathon, with intense strength and flexibility training thrown in.  It is no suprise that the real Navy Seals recruit from triathlons, mountain bike races, and advernture races.  These activities take you to the extreme of human fitness.

Experience:

• Aerogility, running drills, medicine ball strength
• Swim lessons and fitness swimming
• Fitness Running and Urban Adventure Running
• Functional and explosive strength training that enhance endurance
• Yoga (by a professional instructor) and sport-specific stretching to stay injury-free and enhance performance.

I have been a personal trainer and elite triathlete for 10 years.  I usually channel all my most insane gym workouts into my Navy Seals group.  However this group has established that they are ready for advanced endurance training.  For the section starting in Jan 08, I have dropped the most extreme strength training in order to focus on endurance base training and more flexibility training.  To that end I have hired a professional yoga instructor to guide a weekly 30 minute yoga session.  If you are a runner, triathlete, or looking for a great fitness challenge, this is the group for you.

This isn't a class for beginners or people who need to be coddled.  If you are already fit, and you want to take your fitness to an elite level, consider joining this group.  Several of the participants in Navy Seals Extreme Fitness have now taken 3-4 10-week sessions of the class because they keep seeing improvement

Do I have to be a member of the Wellness Center at Baptist to join Navy Seals?

It is not necessary to be a member of the Wellness Center to participate in Navy Seals.  That will cover useage of the facilities when you attend Navy Seals, including lockers, indoor track, treadmills, weight room, showers, sauna, hot tub, and ice.

I can work out by myself.  Why should I pay to participate in this group?

You will not train as hard by yourself as you will in Navy Seals---guaranteed!!!  I have been an elite triathlete for 10 years and a personal fitness trainer for 8 years.  I channel all that experience into the most intense, fun training program possible.  You will learn new kinds of workouts, form, and technique. And the camraderie will push you in new ways as well.
