Corporate Fitness
Corporate Fitness does not have
to be complicated, and certainly not expensive. I
have been training professionals from every occupation,
and I will provide fitness services to your employees
effieciently and cost-effectively. If you are
an employer then you are well aware of the need
for healthy, high-functioning employees. The
fitness and personal development from exercise
provide direct value to your company including
reduced absenteeism and health care expenses. At
the same time, employees with avid fitness recreation
are going to arrive at work ready to get the
job done, with lower stress and physical ailments.
The main premises of my corporate fitness program
are accountability, shared investment, and appropriate
programming.
• Accountability: By providing
an opportunity for an exercise program, you are
saying to your employees that you care about
their well-being. When a corporate fitness program
is introduced in the context as a fringe benefit,
then they will appreciate your gesture of concern.
At the same time, employees share the responsibility
for self-care. Each of us must adopt health
habits (sleep, eating right, hydration, stress
management, and of courese exercise) or face
the consequences. This leads to the next premise....
• *Shared Investment: A fitter, healthier workforce
will provide greater output and value for your
company. This is a real value for you, the employer.
This is also a fringe benefit which may be much
more valuable then a few more dollars at the
end of the month in one's paycheck. At the same
time, for someone to truly appreciate the value
of personal training, it helps if you have a
personal investment in the program. When clients
pre-pay for their training sessons, they are
more motivated to show up.
The recommended arrangement is for the employee
to pay for part or all of the cost of participation,
then based on attendance they receive reimbursement
for that investment. Usually the employer agrees
to pay some portion of the actual registration
cost; a greater percentage if the employee achieves
a goal attendance rate.
• Appropriate Programming: As your corporate
fitness provider, I will provide individual
and group personal training tailored to the
goals, needs, and interests of your employees.
Foremost among my goals will be targeting issues
of workplace ergonomics (knees, back, wrists,
neck) specific to the demands of your company. I'll
also improve the general fitness needed to
meet the demands of daily life. In the case
of group fitness programs (which provide the
BEST value for your corporate fitness dollar)
I will include themes of team building, communication,
and morale improvement.
Remember, I am not
just training the bodily physical FITNESS of
your employees. I am seeking overall PERSONAL
DEVELOPMENT. My training in counseling psychology,
executive coaching, organizational development, and
stress management will be utilized in the overall
corporate fitness play you receive.
